I will give you a short testimony of my salvation. I was saved on Dec. 3, 1986 at 5:30 pm in the basement of the Riverside Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana. That was the day that I finally admitted that I was a sinner on my way to Hell and that I needed Jesus Christ as my Saviour. I trusted what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary, shedding His Blood for me. I asked the Lord to come into my heart and save me, AND HE DID! I have known from that day forward, that I am going to Heaven and it's not because of anything I did other than accept what Jesus Christ did for me.

Bonnies testimony is that "in early spring of 1986, I heard the Gospel on a television program. I realized that the Lord Jesus Christ died for an undeserving wretch like me. It was then that I got down on my knees, alone in my living room and told the Lord I was sorry for my sins. I asked Him to forgive me and to come into my heart and save me. That was the happiest day of my life! I can never thank Him enough. I became a member of Hope Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio and fell in love with the preaching of God's word."

Bonnie and I met in Toledo, Ohio in May of 1988. We were married that year on Dec 3rd, by Pastor Rick Sowell at Hope Baptist Church. I've worked in the Railroad Industry for 37 years with 3 different Railroads, most recently with the Norfolk Southern and was transferred to Altoona, PA in 1990.  I retired on Feb. 16th 2008.
We were serving the Lord at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Altoona, PA as "Christians Serving Veterans", sent out by Harvest Baptist Church, in Cumberland, MD.  Our Pastor was Dan Snow.  The Lord has directed us to move back to Hope Baptist Church in Toledo, OH and have been here since Sept. 25th, 2008.  We believe this will be very helpful to our Ministry with us being more central to the United States.  Toledo has a major north/south route I-75, a major east/west route I-80/90, an airport 10 miles from where we live and the Detroit Metropolitan Airport is only 45 minutes away.  There are 21 Veteran Facilities located within a 3 1/2 hour drive from Toledo.  Whereby giving us the opportunity to visit these sites in what we call a "Day Trip."  This will keep us busy when were not on the road "Recruiting".

We had been ministering to our Veterans at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home since July of 2002. We started out visiting 2 to 3 times a week during the evening.  To make a long story short, the Lord Blessed us and on May 8, 2003 he allowed us to start a Thursday evening Bible Study. Since then we have also been granted permission to conduct a 9:15 and 11:00 am Sunday School.  Our weekly average attendance was around 35.  We have recruited 15 members from Dry Run Independent Baptist Church to take over for us at HVH.  We have been working with them since July 1st, and they are now holding services on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  The last report we got from them is that they are averaging about 40 each week and still growing.  We thank "God" first of all, and Pastor John Leatherman for his appreciation towards our Veterans in as much that he asked for and got 15 Volunteers from his church to take over the ministry at HVH.  Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he."

In addition to the Bible Studies we have special music programs. We call them "God and Country Rallys". I would be glad to share this program with anybody that may be interested in doing this. It includes all the military theme songs - like "Anchors Away", "From the Halls of Montezuma", "Off we go into the Wild Blue Yonder", and "As the Army goes Rolling Along". The Vets love it and we have a good time. It gives us a chance to get a group together and get to know them.  I have had several of them ask me, "when are you coming back to sing?" We have received several letters from Administrators at the Homes, thanking us for doing programs for the Vets.
